What Is Family?

The concept of family was on my mind recently, so wanted to share a few thoughts about what family means to me.

Family doesn't have to be limited to blood relatives. There are all types of families. One can find a family at work, friend groups, sports teams, community, neighborhoods, and even coffee shops.

Family happens when people accept one another and look out for each other. When we share experiences together. When we look forward to being with that group of people. Family pushes us to be our best, but loves us just as we are.

Family doesn't have to be close by. It can be more challenging, but family could be spread across the globe.

Family can be complex at times, but that doesn't mean it isn't worthy of the effort to be part of that family. Sometimes the complexities of family give us the opportunity for personal growth.

I'm grateful for all of my families. I have a great spouse and kids. I have great parents and siblings. I work with a great group of people. I have a coffee shop family at the local coffee shop. I know these are my families, as I feel loved when I'm with them.

I've now have a new family - my spiritual family. During my journey as an angel reader and medium, I've met some incredible people. I have great mentors, colleagues, and friends who are part of my new spiritual family. I have felt incredible support from these people and do my best to give back to them as I can.

My hope is that each of you knows the love of family, no matter how your family might look.
